Whether you are buying a single accessory or outfitting an entire office with high-end workstations, we strive to make the payment process as smooth and secure as possible.
This Payment Policy outlines our accepted payment methods, security protocols, installment options, and our commitment to financial integrity. We operate our financial hub out of P.O BOX 182-40109 SONDU, KERICHO, and all transactions are governed by the laws of the Republic of Kenya.
1. Commitment to Payment Security
Security is our top priority. We understand the trust you place in us when you share your financial details.
- SSL Encryption: Our website uses 256-bit SSL encryption to ensure that all data transmitted during the checkout process is unreadable by third parties.
- PCI Compliance: We only partner with payment processors that meet the highest international security standards (PCI-DSS).
- No Data Storage: We do not store your full card details or mobile money PINs on our servers. All sensitive data is handled securely by our licensed financial partners.
2. Accepted Payment Methods
We offer a diverse range of payment options tailored to the Kenyan consumer and international clients.
2.1 M-Pesa (Mobile Money)
As the most popular payment method in Kenya, M-Pesa is fully integrated into our platform.
- STK Push: During checkout, you will receive a prompt on your phone to enter your M-Pesa PIN.
- Paybill: You can also pay via our official Paybill number (details provided during checkout). Please ensure you use your Order ID as the account number.
- Verification: M-Pesa payments are verified instantly on our system, allowing for immediate processing of your order.
2.2 Credit and Debit Cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex)
We accept all major global cards.
- Processing: Card transactions are processed through secure gateways such as iPay or DPO.
- 3D Secure: For your protection, we require 3D Secure verification (OTP) for all card transactions.
- Currency: While prices are displayed in KES, your bank will handle the conversion if you are paying with a foreign currency card.
2.3 Bank Transfers & RTGS
Ideal for large corporate orders or high-value purchases.
- Process: Upon choosing this method, you will receive our bank details (based in Kericho/Nairobi).
- Timeline: Goods will be dispatched only once the funds have cleared in our account. This usually takes 1–3 business days for local transfers and 3–7 days for international SWIFT transfers.
- Proof of Payment: Please send your payment confirmation/slip to support@gadgetdrive.co.ke to expedite verification.
2.4 Cash on Delivery (COD) – Restricted
We offer COD only under specific conditions to ensure the safety of our couriers:
- Location: Available within specific zones near Sondu, Kericho, and central Nairobi.
- Amount: Limited to orders below KES 20,000.
- Commitment Fee: A small non-refundable shipping fee may be required via M-Pesa before dispatch.
3. Lipa Pole Pole (Installment Plans)
At Gadget Drive, we believe technology should be accessible. We have partnered with several providers to offer “Buy Now, Pay Later” (BNPL) options.
- Aspira / Lipa Later: If you have an account with these providers, you can choose them at checkout.
- In-House Installments: For specific high-value items, we offer custom payment plans for residents of the P.O BOX 182-40109 area. This requires a 50% down payment and physical verification at our Kericho office.
- Interest: Terms and conditions, including any interest rates, are set by the respective finance provider.
4. Pricing and Taxes
- Currency: All prices on https://gadgetdrive.co.ke are listed in Kenya Shillings (KES) unless otherwise stated.
- VAT: Prices are inclusive of 16% Value Added Tax (VAT) as per Kenyan law. Tax invoices can be provided upon request for corporate tax claims.
- Price Fluctuations: Due to the volatile nature of the tech market and exchange rates, prices are subject to change without notice. However, once an order is placed and paid for, the price is locked in.
5. Order Verification and Fraud Prevention
To protect our community, Gadget Drive reserves the right to verify any transaction.
- Trigger: Large transactions or those flagged by our security system may require additional verification.
- Documentation: We may ask for a copy of your National ID or a call to verify the transaction on +254 748 185449.
- Refusal: We reserve the right to cancel any order that we suspect is fraudulent or high-risk. In such cases, a full refund will be issued to the original source.
6. Refunds and Overpayments
If you have overpaid or are entitled to a refund (see our Return Policy):
- Processing: Refunds are processed within 24–48 hours of approval.
- Source: We always refund to the source of the payment to prevent money laundering and fraud.
- Transaction Fees: Please note that transaction fees charged by your bank or M-Pesa may not be refundable by Gadget Drive.
7. B2B and Wholesale Payments
For our wholesale partners and institutional clients:
- Credit Terms: Long-term partners may apply for 30-day credit terms following a successful credit check.
- LPO: We accept Local Purchase Orders (LPOs) from reputable organizations and government bodies.
- Payment Hub: All B2B financial communications should be directed to our finance department at support@gadgetdrive.co.ke.
8. Failure to Pay
If a payment is declined or reversed after the product has been shipped:
- Recovery: Gadget Drive will attempt to recover the funds through amicable communication.
- Legal Action: Failure to resolve the debt may result in the matter being handed over to our legal team in Kericho or a debt collection agency.
- Blacklisting: Your account and delivery address will be blacklisted from all future transactions across our ecosystem.
